Many years ago I felt an urge to share my story. The story of a lost and broken girl who found hope in God. You see, I was a suicidal party girl who was empty inside. When I got the courage in 2016 to share my testimony, the fear of what others would think quickly took over me and the video I posted on YouTube I quickly deleted.
I was also not in a good place back then. I was in a toxic marriage, depressed, having anxiety and panic attacks, while working in a salon and also trying to care for an autistic child and an overly energetic 1st grader.
I had so much on my plate, and the more I prayed the more I felt the heaviness. I felt so alone, but I was for certain that there were probably other women experiencing something similar. I searched online for someone I could resonate with. I searched for books, podcasts, and more but never quite found the message I needed to hear.
It was either too spiritual or coming from someone who I had nothing in common with.
That book inspired many women to begin sharing their stories of sexual abuse, trauma, brokenness, and more.
It inspired women to talk about the things unspoken, and to begin healing.
And it inspired other women to begin their walk with God. You see, your story isn't just a story. It's the courage that you find to rise when it feels like you've been defeated.
There is nothing shameful about that. Your story is something beautiful.
If there's an urge in your heart to share your story, please don't wait until it's pretty and polished.
Trust me, it will be nothing but messy in the beginning.
But, if you take that leap of faith all the dots will begin to connect. Your painful story can be another Mujer's
beautiful treasure.
Always remember that your story is yours, and no one has the right to share your story. You decide who to share it with and what parts you share. But don't ever be afraid or ashamed of your story. - There's something truly special about it!
Your story has helped shape you. It carries traces of where you’ve been, who you’ve known, what you’ve done… it’s powerful and it speaks volumes.
The good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your story are all beautiful. - And no one can tell your story quite like you.
Girl, it's time to share your story. Someone is waiting to hear what you have to say.
I am working on something behind the scenes that will help you cultivate your story and share it with authenticity.
"My journey to finding my purpose wasn’t something that happened overnight, and it also wasn’t something that came easy for me. I wish I could say that I always knew what I was meant to do. But the truth is that I found my purpose while navigating a painful and dark season of life.
Had it not been for the pain that led me on a path to healing I never would have found the courage to begin walking in my purpose.
Coming from where I come from, and having experienced so many hurdles at such a young age I always felt that I wasn’t good enough. I felt that the great things in life only happened to special people. You see, I was captive to the past pain that once defined me."
